Ad-writing contest for menstrual pads, United
Kingdom, 1990
The rules
The English magazine Company
sponsored a contest to write an
advertisement for Dr White's Shapes, -
the abbreviation
for doctor gets no punctuation
in British English - a
menstrual pad. In July 1990 it
published the results, the first page
of which I print below; the second,
showing the best submissions, is here.
When I find it in the MUM files, I
will put on this site the ad with 3-D glasses
the article mentions in the second
column (I found
it!)
By the way, both a German and
an American
disposable pad were available in the
last century, contrary to what we read
in the second column.
