Tampax
menstrual tampons educational
booklet,
"it's
time you knew . . . all about
menstruation,"
By Mary McGee Williams
No date, U.S.A.
Whole black & white
booklet, slick paper
Back and front
covers
This is a different, undated
version of the Tampax booklet, or
pamphlet, with a copyright of
1966 but with a calendar for
1970. The uncertainty of
time eerily reflects the frequent
uncertainty of menstrual periods.
Time itself
mocks the viewer of the cover,
below. Wow, I'm waning literary.
The text reflects the American
attitudes of the 1960s and 1970s.
What else could it do?
Good reading!

Below:
Back and front covers.
Each page measures 3 15/16 x 9 1/8"
(c. 10 x 23 cm).
The theme is the
passage of time: the
pentagonal dodecahedron with 12 equal
faces allows one month per face; the
woman's watch of the era; the title;
and of course menstruation itself,
which the last text on the back cover
(at left) explains as related to
"month." Someone thought this through.
