The mildly funny story tells how after initially criticizing Cousin John's wife, the relatives realize that she deserves instead respect, having dyed her clothes and furnishings rather than buying new, expensive items. The 12-page narrative leads into many pages of advertising for the dyes. I'll only inflict the first page on you, below.

There's nothing about menstruation, of course, or even women's health, since the writer is pitching paint. Women's "special weaknesses" come later.
