Do they have anything in common?
Nope.
Except that they provoke "Well, I'll be darned!" (here and here) in this tiny, fragile booklet the popular Dr. R. V. Pierce published to hawk his patent medicine and doctoring in the late 19th to 20th centuries.
Like the towering Mrs. Lydia Pinkham, his number one rival in the American alcohol-plus-herbs business, the doctor published booklets like this one to snare customers looking for entertainment and edification.
In an era increasingly infused with another doctor's dream interpretation - Sigmund Freud's - Dr. Pierce offers interesting takes on what it means to dream of things like faces and funerals. They'll probably surprise you.

In producing the booklet, the printer trimmed the pages askew and too closely
because the type and pictures were badly centered, chopping off most page numbers
