In 1985 the American public had mostly
forgotten about menstrual cups - if it had known
about them in the place - because of the failure of the American Tassaway and
probably few women used sponges, which involved
too much handling (my feeling).
Note the possibly euphemistic vagina when vulva, a word seldom seen in these
booklets, would have been more appropriate. Strange phobia. Another phobia
is
panties, which to its credit the text uses
(right-hand page). In these booklets and in most
public discourse we see underwear, not underpants
or panties. A recent news account reported
that the Naked Cowboy was standing only in his underwear. His t-shirt? Long
underwear? No, underpants.
The same fella, by the way, appeared on the same hour of Moral Court (Warner
Bros. TV) as I did.
