                                      booklet praising
                                        Allah (below,
                                      second-to-last line, p. 15, at
                                      left)! But think how just as odd
                                      it would have been to see Thank God!
                                      in its place. I believe that
                                      relegates "praise Allah!" to the
                                      level of "Confucius say . . . ,"
                                      in other words something the
                                      average American might utter
                                      tongue in cheek with no thought
                                      (or knowledge) of the respective
                                      beliefs. The 1940s were wise-guy
                                      times in the U.S.
