                                      Tampax
                                      from a few
                                        months later, March 7,
                                      1970,  
                                      that I took from the box right
                                      below (Tambrands donated it to
                                      this museum). Someone, probably a
                                      Tampax quality inspector, 
                                      wrote on the box's cellophane
                                      wrapper.

                                      The Primella size is almost
                                      identical to the sanpax
                                      except for the string: the cotton
                                      plug
                                      measures about 2.25 x 0.5" (about
                                      5.7 x 1.3 cm) and the string
                                      about 4" (about 10 cm) long. The inner
                                      (upper here) tube
                                      measures about 2.85 x 0.5" (about
                                      7.3 cm x 1.3 cm), the outer
                                      about 2.75 x 5.1" (about 7 x 1.31
                                      cm). You can see it lacks the holes
                                      that make ridges that hold the
                                      Tampax tampon tubes in place until
                                      a finger pushes the the end.
